How Wranx unlocks the value of your training materials: a guide to content conversion

As part of our service at Wranx, we aim to make your onboarding experience as seamless as possible, ensuring you are supported every step of the way.

The Wranx service includes:

  • Content conversion mobile trainingA dedicated Account Manager: they are the go-to person for your business needs. They can also provide updates on performance and engagement on the platform.
  • A Client Success Representative: they can share analytical overviews and suggest ways to optimise usage of Wranx.
  • Technical Support Team: they manage all technical queries, as well as updates to user lists and uploading/removing modules.

Finally, a significant service element of Wranx is our ability to convert your existing training materials and create custom content. We accept training materials in a variety of formats, such as audio files, company videos, presentation slides, printed brochures and training manuals. Customising content ensures that the modules/assessments relate specifically to your organisation and training, which creates more value for the learner. Content can also be translated into any language needed for global clients and diverse workforces. An example of this is The North Face®, who regularly deliver training in six different languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish and Italian.

This is all managed by our dedicated Content Team, who oversee the content conversion process and ensure the newly constructed Spaced Repetition questions offer users the most valuable learning experience possible.

Spaced Repetition involves increasing intervals of time between subsequent learning reviews to make the most of the spacing effect, and is utilised in the form of daily drills. Our unique algorithm turns this into Personalised Spaced Repetition for your learners as they are asked to rate how well they knew their answer. This means questions with a low rating will appear more often, increasing the likelihood of the information being retained in the long term!

The content conversion process:

Content conversion begins with the handover of existing training content, or new content, after which it is assigned to a Key Content Writer, who is responsible for overseeing all activity relating to the project.

The Key Content Writer and any additional Content Writers assigned to the project then introduce themselves and walk you through the content conversion process, while also agreeing on timelines to ensure a smooth conversion process. From here, a first draft of the module is created, proofread and sent back to you for any feedback. After you have reviewed it, the Content Writer can make any amends accordingly. For us, full communication with the client is vital to ensure the content is fully tailored to their learning objectives and information within the module is accurate.

A module is a bank of around 50 questions and the daily drills are made up of 10 questions that are pulled from the module.

After the questions are finalised, the module is uploaded onto our system where it can be previewed on the platform. This gives you the chance to request any last-minute changes to ensure that you are 100% happy with the learning content. After this, the module is ready to go live!

Pre and post-assessments:

As well as creating learning modules, the Wranx team is also able to create pre and/or post-assessments. Pre-assessments are used to establish a learner’s baseline knowledge prior to completing the related module, while post-assessments (taken after the module) can show clear learner progression. Assessments are made up of multiple-choice questions and are a useful tool to help identify any potentially damaging knowledge gaps.

The content process differs slightly when creating assessments. For example, when we send you the first draft of the module, the Content Writer will ask you to select which of the module questions you wish to include in the pre and/or post-assessment. Both the pre and/or post-assessment will follow the same careful process of proofreading and previewing as the module before being approved to go live.

Certainty Based Marking (CBM):

Both pre and post-assessments can be adapted to incorporate Certainty Based Marking (CBM). CBM assessments encourage learners to consider how reliable their knowledge is, which in turn promotes lateral thinking and, as a result, helps the learner to better understand the key focus areas. This is achieved when learners are asked to rate how certain they are that the answer they give is correct and points are awarded accordingly.

Success Stories:

Bite-sized learning combined with assessments is proven to be better for employee engagement and makes the transfer of learning 17% more efficient, which has a positive impact on company performance overall. Combining customised content with microlearning and Spaced Repetition has provided effective results for many of our clients.

The Content Team developed two learning modules for Tata Steel Europe, called Hot-Rolled Steel and Cold-Rolled Steel, which incorporated pre and post-assessments. The results of the post-assessment for Hot-Rolled Steel showed that 97% of learners had improved in knowledge, while the post-assessment for Cold-Rolled Steel demonstrated a perfect 100% improvement in knowledge! In addition to this, the average learner answered 50% of questions correctly in their first pre-assessment, but this jumped to 75% for the post-assessment, meaning learners answered 7.5 more questions correctly in their post-assessment.

Wranx’s content conversion process is straightforward and effective. We actively take feedback onboard to ensure future modules are fully tailored to your company’s learning objectives.

This truly unique offer allows us to reinvent your existing training materials by turning them into bite-sized modules, which are delivered in the form of daily Spaced Repetition drills designed to improve employee knowledge.
